Solution
Part II: Write a lab report
using the following scientific method sections:
Title: The Effect of
Energy Sources on Environmental Pollution and Human Health
Purpose
This lab analysis aims to show the
difference between the two types of energy sources: renewable and nonrenewable.
In addition, it will highlight some advantages and disadvantages of the two
types of energy to know which one is the best for human use.
Introduction
The type of energy humans uses most of the
time is nuclear power, which is nonrenewable energy. In addition, coal is
largely used by humans as a source of energy and is nonrenewable. Significantly,
humans should use less of the two to minimize environmental pollution and
improve human health based on the two. The use of two in the highest number
leads to emission of harmful gas in the air, leading to change of environment,
thus leading to environmental pollution.
Hypothesis/Predicted Outcome
Many people lack knowledge or
understanding on the effect of using nonrenewable gas and the problem that the
energy causes to their environment. Consequently, the results should show the
contamination caused by nonrenewable energy in the environment and why people
should embrace the use of renewable energy such as solar.
Methods
First, I did some google research to find
out some of the top organizations that deal with the environment. I narrowed it
down to international organizations. I also look for organizations that
collected primary data from the affected people to ensure that my data source
was lenient and from first hand. I also narrowed it down to direct consumers of
these energies to identify which causes global warming and is the most used by
humans.
Results/Outcome
The results show that nuclear has the
highest generation of 19,959,126 MWh while Biomass has the lowest generation of
31,540 MWh. Coal causes the highest contamination to the environment with
345.91, followed by nuclear 0.20 and biomass 0.146. Coal has the highest
emissions of CO2 SO2, NOx, and Methane to the environment and a high
volume of solid waste. Comparing the generation with the emissions released to
the atmosphere, nuclear appears to be the purest energy source.
Discussion/Analysis
From my analysis, I can
conclude that coal is one of the nonrenewable energies that most affect the
environment. This is because it has more disadvantages to climate change; thus,
people should be encouraged to use other cleaner types of energy like solar than
coal and nuclear. This is because renewable sources of energy are
environmentally friendly. Thus, it is my pleasure to advise people to use
renewable energy such as solar and wind electricity because they are less
effective to human health and environmental pollution.
