Career planning
Career success definition.
A successful career brings up a level of
satisfaction and happiness in a person. (Frederiksen & Kato, 2017) As a
human resource manager, I would want to
have an existing work environment which will create happiness, passion, and excitement in my life. For me to
feel that I have a successful career as an HR
manager, I will evaluate the kind of
relationships I have in my work environment. My relationship with other workers
should be at its best. Also, I will need to have a good relationship with my
boss and have a good learning curve that will impact positively on my career.
Personal mission statement
Dedicated to improving
lives of others and my own. The only way I will achieve this is through hard
work, continuous accumulation of knowledge and being proud of what I do as well
as putting other people's interests
before mine. To always apply my work ethics by doing my best in every task I
partake. By putting interests of others before mine, I will be able to give
back to the community through charitable efforts.
Skills inventory
Possesses
various competencies in the human
resource field which include HR policies and procedures, HRIS administration, Employee
benefits ADP Payroll, Performance Management, Change Management. These skills add up to my work experience. It’s my
desire to add more skills to these along with
my career development.

resource manager and then consulting my boss on how to develop my career.
Undertake development programs such as managing a project and taking on new
tasks to help me learn more. Interacting with others also helps increase skills
and finally development from training such as seminars.

goals. Setting career objectives will enable me
to examine my progress and know what to improve on.

Career Management
Professional development plan
When creating a professional development plan
as a human resource manager, I would
consider the skills required, job requirements, the knowledge required and the
technology I would need during the daily profession tasks. By doing this, I will be well prepared to tackle every
challenge that comes my way thus developing my profession
(Kregg-Byer 2014).
Mentoring plan
Create a plan that will mentor the employees
and guide their daily working activities.

employees are mentored well, they produce quality results from the
tasks they undertake.
