The goal of
giving high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of safety for both staff

Solution
Managing Conflict and Team Building
Nurses
experience various situations that affect their team effectiveness and cultural
safety in the nursing profession. Given that nurses work as a team with an
organization, conflict may occur due to competition for the resources,
equipment and personnel. For instance, based on my observation, interpersonal
and intersender conflict is one of the pertaining situations I observed to
affect my workplace, which needed leaders to respond to create a conducive
working environment.
From
my finding, I noticed that appropriate behavior such as human dignity and
integrity manifested in nursing at the workplace. Due to integrity and human
dignity, nurses were able to build successful teamwork that focused on ensuring
high-quality patient outcomes and safety issues (Kathleen, 2020). However,
inappropriate behaviors that nurses experience within the workplace include a
lack of effective teamwork and inefficient collaboration among nurses increases
medical errors in the workplace. These are some of the inappropriate behaviors
that were experienced within the workplace.
In
addition, various approaches were used to manage conflict within the nursing
workplace which the employers gave nurses free training on conflict management.
Also, within AI'S 4Ds, five core principles are mainly focused on shifting the
focus in the nursing workplace from problem to possibility (Kathleen,
2020). For instance, positive and constructionist principles are important
because they help in conflict resolution as they build positive relationships
among nurses.
Consequently, from the outcome of conflict
situation given on whether or not contributed culture of safety within the
workplace, it always helps nurses learn how to manage conflict. It is evident
that the situation's outcome helps in building effective team members (Team Effectiveness Assessment, 2021).
More importantly, it makes team members understand the basics of conflict
management by developing different ways of working and thinking.
One
of the ways Al can be focused on a positive resolution is by building
transformational relationships focused on influencing improvement. For
instance, Al's main focus is building effective leadership that unleashes
creativity and innovation. It can be used as a significant way to mobilize
improvement projects and create a healthy working environment.
The
conflict situation had an undesirable outcome to the workplace; effective
resolution must be implemented to help teams compete and work productively. For
instance, the involvement of positive principles as a conflict resolution
strategy can help create a positive relationship among the nurses, leading to
better performance and outcomes.
