I am originally from Ethiopia. I came to the United States about five years ago in search of a better life and education. My family and I settled in Minnesota, where I attended high school. After graduation, I decided to enroll at Century College to pursue a degree in cosmetology. I majored in cosmetology because I am always passionate about hair and makeup. I love making people feel good about themselves, and cosmetology is a great way to do that. It is also a flexible career, essential to me as a mother of two young children. I am grateful for attending Century College and earning my cosmetology degree. I am confident that this education will help me build a successful career in the beauty industry. I’ve always been fascinated by the beauty industry. I watched my mom put on makeup and style her hair when I was younger, and I realized that I wanted to peruse it. After graduating from high school, I decided to pursue a career in cosmetology. I have gained knowledge about hair and makeup through my studies, and I am convinced I can provide quality services to my clients. Once I finish my degree, I plan to open my own cosmetology business. I want to create a place where people can come to relax and feel good about themselves. I also plan to offer discounts to those who cannot afford to pay full price. My goal of becoming a cosmetologist will help my community because I will be providing discounted services to those who cannot afford them, and by giving back to the community, I am also helping myself. I trust it is essential to serve the community that has given you so much. By volunteering my time and skills, I can help others while also helping myself. This is one of my most outstanding qualities. I am confident that I have all of the qualities required to be a successful cosmetologist. I am dedicated to my goals, and I am always willing to learn new things. I believe that my skills, combined with my dedication and passion, will help me achieve my dreams.

I have always been interested in the cosmetology field. When I was younger, I would often experiment with different hairstyles on my friends and family. I enjoyed seeing the transformation when someone felt good about their appearance. This experience motivated me to want to pursue a career in cosmetology. However, there were many obstacles that I had to overcome to pursue my dreams. The cost of cosmetology school tuition was one of the most significant challenges. I came from a modest background, and I recognized that paying for school would be difficult. Therefore, I decided to take on several jobs and save as much money as possible. With hard work and determination, I overcame this obstacle and achieved my goal of becoming a cosmetologist. The greatest achievement of my career thus far has been the ability to help others feel good about themselves. Daily, I am able to use my creativity and technical skills to improve the lives of my clients. I have also had the experience of working with individuals of all age groups, backgrounds, and expertise.

Each client presents a unique challenge, and I enjoy offering them a service that they will value. The best part of my job is seeing their happy faces after a successful transformation. I am grateful to myself for overcoming the challenges that have come my way, and I am grateful for the career that I have achieved for myself. I am aware that there will be difficulties ahead, but I am optimistic that I will face them with similar determination and resilience. I am currently applying to cosmetology school, and I am extremely excited about the prospect of attending. Unfortunately, I am also very aware of the high cost of tuition and the financial barriers that stand in my way of attending. This scholarship would help me immensely by covering a portion of my tuition costs and would allow me to focus on my studies without the worry of how I will pay for school. I will utilize the funds to cover my tuition, textbooks, and other educational expenditures. Additionally, this scholarship would help me achieve my long-term goal of becoming a successful cosmetologist. Winning this scholarship would mean everything to me and allow me to pursue my dreams.

I am not eligible for FAFSA because I am not a U.S. Citizen. I am also not currently enrolled in school, so I cannot fill out a FAFSA at this time. However, I am hoping to be able to enroll in school and become eligible for FAFSA in the future. In the meantime, this scholarship would help me immensely by covering a portion of my tuition costs and allowing me to focus on my studies without worrying about how I will pay for school.

I want to receive this cosmetology scholarship because I am passionate about making people feel good about themselves. I have been doing hair and makeup for friends and family for as long as I can remember, and it makes me so happy to see them looking and feeling their best. I am also very involved in my community. I volunteer at a local shelter where I do hair and makeup for women. I must help them feel good about themselves, even if just for a day.

My objectives are important since I want to contribute more to my community. I eventually want to open a salon that caters to people who might not be able to afford a traditional salon. I want to give them the same feeling of confidence and beauty that I have been able to give my friends and family. One of my hobbies is baking. I love experimenting with new recipes, and I’m always trying to create something new. My friends and family are always giving me feedback on my latest creations. My values include social justice, giving back, and family. Coming from a low-income family, I understand how difficult it is to meet ends. I want to be able to assist people in my community who are going through similar experiences. Some important qualities that I have are determination, resilience, and a positive attitude. I’ve had to work hard for everything I have, and I’m not afraid of a challenge. I think that these qualities make me the perfect candidate for this scholarship. I am determined to use my skills to bring a difference in my community and would welcome the chance to do so. I have received the Academic Excellence Award for all four years of high school. I was also captain of my high school’s dance team for two years and warded the “Best in Class” designation by my instructors.

Scholarships like this are important because they provide opportunities for people who might not otherwise have them. I would be grateful for the chance to use my skills to make a difference in my community, and I promise to work hard to make the most of this opportunity.
