How I became a Sociology major

Sociology is a social science that analyses society, human behavior patterns, social behaviors, social connections, and cultural aspects of life. It uses a combination of experimental research and critical analytical approaches to create a reservoir of content on social structure and transformation. I am incredibly interested in learning more about society, social issues, social reform, diversity, and relationships between and within social groupings. One of the reasons I chose sociology as a major is that it is a fascinating and varied field. Sociologists and sociology learners can investigate anything, including other disciplines because sociological concepts are prominent in many segments of society.

Martin Luther King, Jr., a sociology professor, and international civil rights activist, has always been my role model. Martin’s efforts to efficiently convert academically complex theological and sociological issues for general appeal made him an outlier in what a public sociologist works. Nonetheless, Luther's sociology was distinguished by incorporating religious and interfaith problems into his social study of racial issues and other pressing challenges of the period, including war and poverty. In the discipline of sociology, my uncle has also been a mentor. In one of the universities, he is a senior professor. I like his determination and how well-versed he is in all disciplines. I believe he has significantly influenced my decision to pursue sociology as a profession. My ambition has always been to assist others in a better understanding how the social environment operates and how it may be improved. The value of sociology is based on its ability to keep us informed about current affairs. It also leads to the improvement of decent people, facilitates resolving local problems, enlarges our understanding of the world, supports people in defining their role in society, and interacts with the competent government with the community.

Studying sociology has provided me with multiple skills. More practical competencies include research skills, particularly the ability to conduct data analysis. Quantitatively demanding jobs and careers that pay more are in higher demand than non-quantitatively demanding jobs. Therefore, students should also learn how to analyze qualitative data. Reading and analyzing data is one of the most important skills I have learned. I have also gained the ability to plan and carry out a research study, Skills in writing and speaking, in public speaking, Assessing and addressing difficulties, and managing global diversity concerns.

Sociology has impacted me in a variety of ways. I've learned how to evaluate significant research topics and think logically about human social life. It has aided me in developing practical social research projects, collecting and analyzing empirical data, and formulating and presenting research findings. It has also taught me how to help others comprehend how the social world operates and improve it. Sociology has provided a unique and insightful perspective on the current social world and how our lives are shaped. Sociology has assisted me in better understanding my place in the world concerning other individuals. I've come to see the many facets of our lives. My mother is a parent, a sister, a liberal, and a volunteer, to name a few things. Conflicting demands and expectations exist both inside and across these jobs. I have become more alert and tolerant as a result of sociology. I have learned that structure and authority influence both individuals and groups and that acknowledging and understanding how these powerful forces in our lives push us to do horrible things is the only way to combat them.
