Solution
The Systems Theory and Management
The systems theory revolves around the connection of
interrelated entities that are either natural or human-made. Each system is
effectively influenced by the time, space, and environment to achieve its
purposes through some concurrent operations. The interdependence in a system is
evident in scenarios where an alteration of a single part has a subsequent outcome
on the whole framework. This essay aims to discuss the application of knowledge
from the systems theory to a workplace environment. In this case, my current
working environment as an IT architect enables me to apply the systems theory
to the business computing atmosphere, where it is vital in various ways by
developing a Management Information System used in the decision-making process
and promoting proper communication among the stakeholders.
The systems theory
impacts the business computing field as it streamlines the decision-making
processes and gives the firm I work for a sense of direction. Applying the
system theory to a computerized organization is shown through a firm’s
methodological inputs and outputs (Edwards, 2019). A computer system has both software and
hardware components interrelated to explain the independence of various
environmental factors affecting an organization. In this case, the theory will
help ensure that all the Information and Technology operations responsible for
ensuring proper planning and good customer relations are up to date.
As an Information Technology Architect, I help the
organization apply Modern computer technology as an effective information
system tool because it promotes the communication process between workers,
suppliers, and potential consumers. For example, organizations prefer using
emails, live chats, and video conferencing to communicate to their staff on
important matters. For example, during this COVID 19 pandemic, employers have
adopted webinars and zoom to relay information to nurses effectively. Besides,
computer technology is vital since it helps firms develop Inventory and
Customer Management Frameworks (Edwards Jr, 2019). Through these systems, nurses
can record, store, and retrieve their patient’s health records for use whenever
required.
Different organizations have diverse information needs. My
knowledge in computing will enable me to find the organization’s various
information needs, such as generating annual reports on mortality and financial
data. Additionally, a business that applies computing practices might also
require planning and monitoring purposes which h requires that there must be
data on the complete budget coverage and expenditures (Teece, 2018). A complete
information system for an organization includes the following aspects: project
extension, corporate culture, patient and staff needs, and a secure budget.
Finally, the whole process must be officiated by a team of experts.
A Management Information System (MIS) has a distinct nature
and structure that supports its operations in an organization, especially when
it comes to decision-making. An MIS is a framework that provides a firm with
information and data required for the management processes. The components of a
prudent MIS include organizational procedure, policies, and practices,
established standards, and cross-evaluation of all the firm’s activities (Teece, 2018).
The
structure is a group of individuals, communication bases, and all the data
sources that collect and relay an organization’s information. However, a
management information system is important in decision-making since it helps
the stakeholders understand the outcomes related to their decisions. For
example, the systems can collect raw data and reports stored for analysis and
interpretation. Through these processes, the organization’s managers can look
at the patterns and trends from the data and make necessary conclusions or
future predictions about the firm’s direction.
Conclusively, the systems theory is an important concept in
managing information frameworks in an organization, especially the health
facilities. A full information system theory comprises the people,
communication links, and the databases responsible for data collection and
relay of information in a firm. The development of a Management Information
System is vital since it promotes effective communication processes among
stakeholders and ensures that the clients or customers receive high-quality
services.
